April 4th, 2006 (Tucson, Arizona)The Tucson Soccer Academy is excited to announce and welcome Wes Wade as a head coach.   The seven-time indoor All-Star and former U.S. National Futsal Team member will be the head coach for the U 15 Girls at TSA for the 2006-07 season.

“Wes is an outstanding individual and will be a great addition to our club.  Wes is one of indoor soccer’s all-time greats”, said Dave Cosgrove, the Director of Coaching at TSA.  “Wes brings an extensive background with professional playing and coaching experience in soccer as well as being a decorated soccer veteran.”

From 1996-2006 Wes played for the United States National Futsal Team, making appearances against Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Brazil and playing in the FIFA Futsal World Championship.  Futsal, commonly known as five-a-side, is played on basketball-sized courts, both indoors and out without the use of sidewalls.

Wes began his professional career in 1988 with the San Diego Sockers of the Major Indoor Soccer League.  During his first three years of his professional career, Wes won three of his five indoor soccer championships.

In 1992, Wes joined the Kansas City Comets for whom he played for the next twelve years.  During his time at Kansas City Wes made seven all-star appearances, won two indoor championships, was named MVP twice, voted Fan Favorite six times, and was captain for three seasons.  Upon retiring from professional soccer in 2004, Wes was the all-time leading scorer at Kansas City and the Kansas City Comets retired his jersey.

IWes served as Interim Head Coach, in 2004, for Park University Women’s Soccer in Parkville, Missouri and guided the team to a league championship and an appearance in the NAIA Tournament.

Over the last 17 years Wes has been a Summer Soccer Camp Instructor doing camps in Arizona, California and New Mexico.
