The Academy fully supports the Olympic Development Program (ODP) as evidenced by the number of its coaches with recent  or long time connection to the program at the State, Regional or National levels. Currently 11 of the Academy staff have ODP experience as a Head Or Assistant Coach.

The Academy believes the ODP experience can be a valuable contribution to the development of the talented and serious player. Therefore, all Academy players are encouraged to participate. Each year dozens of players attend Play Days, or are identified by Academy coaches for personal evaluations by ODP coaches during competitive play. Those players chosen each summer for the Arizona team to attend Region IV camp are provided with a club stipend to help offset the costs. In 2005, approximately 15 players were assisted. Over 30 current players have attended Regional Camp in their TSA careers.

In its short 5 year history, the Academy has produced players who were recognized at elevated ODP levels. Omid Aldaghi '84, Miguel Guante '84, Luis Robles '84, and C.J. Kaufman '87 were all selected to Region IV or National Pools and Teams. Ex TSA '88 players John Afjei and Phil Mota were selected to National pools during their TSA careers.

Current players also have been recognized at the Regional and National levels.

Red (U16), was selected to the '90 Region IV pool in 2004, and attended National U14 Camp in Massachusetts in August 2004.  

A 2008 graduate in her 3rd year in the Academy, she has played for TSA coaches Charlie Kendrick, Mark Francis and Jose Miranda.

Red (U17), was selected to the '89 Region IV pool in 2003, and attended National U14 camp in Massachusetts in July 2003. She was selected again for '89 Region IV pool in 2004, and in May 2004 attended National U15 training at the Home Depot National Training Facility in Carson, CA A 2007 graduate in her 5th year in the Academy, she has played for TSA coaches Lisa Fraser, Mark Francis, Jose Miranda and Charlie Kendrick
 

Coaches,                                                                                             Please make sure  ALL YOUR CURRENT PLAYERS are aware of these forms.   Below is the link to the TSA ODP stipend form.  TSA is a strong supporter of the ODP program and the opportunities it presents it's players to compete on a Regional level in front of Regional staff and college coaches.  We recognize that participating in an ODP camp is very expensive, so each year TSA sets aside a stipend to be equally distributed amongst all QUALIFYING players. 

The stipulations are as follows-

1.  You must be currently committed to a 2006-07 TSA team and be current on all fees/paperwork owed to date.

2.  You must attend the out-of-state ODP camp to qualify. 

3.  YOP players are not eligible.

4.  You must mail or fax a properly filled out TSA ODP Form to TSA by July 31, 2006.  Emailing or leaving a voice message stating your child is on an ODP team is not acceptable...you must complete and submit the proper TSA ODP Form.

It should be noted that this stipend is not based on need or financial hardship and the total amount will be equally distributed amongst all qualifying (see above stipulations) players.  A check will be mailed to each player on or around August 1, 2006, and we will not know how much each check will be until that time.
