CHELSEA v MANCHESTER UNITED, 3-0 Sat 29 Apr 2006
Chelsea retained their Barclays Premiership title courtesy of a comprehensive victory over nearest challengers Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
William Gallas set the champions on their way with a close range header after five minutes before Joe Cole and Ricardo Carvalho sealed the points with two beautiful strikes.

However, Wayne Rooney was carried off for United towards the end of the second-half sparking fears he could be ruled out of England's World Cup campaign.

The Barclays Premiership trophy will spend another year at Stamford Bridge but the injury to Rooney could turn out to be a massive blow to England. CHELSEA v MANCHESTER UNITED
