More than $10,000 raised for annual Poinsettia Fundraiser

We want to thank everyone who participated in the second annual TSA Poinsettia Fundraiser. it was a fabulous effort and accomplishment.

Eighteen teams raised more than $10,500, which will help a number of families pay for soccer.

“This allows families that struggle with the cost of club soccer a chance to lower their cost by selling something everyone buys for the holidays,’’ said Jerry Havel, lead on the fundraiser. “It is not only profitable for our families but fun as well. Next year will be the third annual sale and we look forward to an even bigger result.’’

The 94 Boys Red team sold the most poinsettias at 422, putting more than $2,200 into player’s accounts.

This year, TSA joined with KVOA and Kristi’s Kids in asking families to donate food items or toys for the holiday season.

“Jerry Havel’s leadership on this fantastic fundraiser has been unparalleled,’’ said Ted Schmidt, a member of TSA Board of Directors. “This is such an important and easy to-do fundraiser that benefits the kids directly as well as the club.  The effort by the kids, parents and team fund raising leaders was phenomenal. On top of all this, TSA families were able to help Kristi’s Kids by providing toys and food for those less fortunate in our community.  We can all be proud to be a part of TSA.’’
