Ruben Astigarraga After signing to play professional soccer at the age of 15 in his native Argentina, and playing for 13 years in Argentina and Mexico, Ruben moved to the United States in 1978. He played with the Memphis Rogues and later the Tulsa Roughnecks of the NASL. When the NASL folded in 1980, Ruben moved to indoor soccer with the MISL. He played with the Cleveland Force and the Phoenix Inferno, where he was named MVP for the ’82-’83 season. In 1985, he moved to the AISA, where he played with the Memphis Storm, Columbus Capitals, and the Tampa Bay Rowdies. An All-Star Player (MISL and AISA), Ruben finally retired in 1990 and dedicated himself to coaching full time. He has successfully coached players from age 8 through college in Florida and Ohio, provided conditioning, skill development and tactical training for youth players, and directed both residential and day soccer camps. In 2003, he accepted a position with TSA as a Coach as well as club-wide Technical Director.
